I have acquired a Lucas distribitor for my 1500 and now have sparks!
I gave up on the electronic ignition and have standard points system.
I noticed the distribitor doesn't have a advanced and retard mechanisim
inside, however it has the vacumn equipment on the side.
I removed the vacumn equipment for painting, and now noticed the leaver is
secured firmly with a screw to the base plate, with no ability to move the
points forward or backwards (advance or retard). Can anybody tell me why this
system has the vacumn equipment on the side, when it is clearly not acheiving
anything?!
