It has been done and there are a few rare manifolds out there to do the
job. There are even kits to do the entire job complete with carbs. I
don't have the reference though. Jeff McNeal has researched this and
should have an answer.
Soooo, since you'll be working on your Spitfire, you won't need that
CB400/4 SOHC, will you? I'll take it off your hands to put in the stable
next to the CB500. :)
