Hand brake

Alright. Another stupid question, but how do you
remove the handle from the Hand brake lever?

The workshop manual steps consists of:
 -Remove handle from lever

Not very descriptive. Is there some trick to it, or
can I just alternate tapping it with a hammer and soft
block of wood to scoot it off?
