I've seen it called "French walnut veneer". I do know somebody who has a
teak veneer dash-gorgeous! Dark and with a wonderful grain.
If you get a new peice, it won't match the old unless you refinish it all.
Don't forget, Fred Griffiths is selling templates for the dash, so if you
can find the veneer that matches, it's an easy thing to cut a new peice with
the pattern.
