I'm trying to identify a module on my '76 spit that is
mounted on the right side of a bracket on the firewall
inside the engine bay just to the left of the brake master
cylinder. On the other side of this bracket is a similar
module which is the horn relay. The module in question
has 5 lugs, two above, two below, and one in the middle.
The lower left lug has two black wires, one which
comes from the wiring harness and another which
connects to the middle lug. Both of these wires are
fried. The wires at the top are black/purple on the
left and green/white on the right. On the bottom
right lug are two white/orange wires. I can't find
any of these wires in the wiring diagram in the
Haynes manual. I think this thing may have something
to do with a short in the panel lights that burned out
the panel light rheostat, but I'm stumped so far. There
are similar looking modules in the TRF and VB catalogs,
but they have 4 lugs, not 5. Can anyone tell me what
the heck this is? Thanks!
