Greetings to the list. I have an oil leak on my GT6 engine that's driving
me crazy. It appears that oil "may" be leaking from either around the Oil
filter housing cover, or just up a bit in front of it. I've put a new oil
filter with new o-ring on which made no difference. In the drive way, of
course I see no oil leaking. After an hour run there is a film of oil on
the underside of the oil filter housing and oil on the frame (also under the
filter). I'm also a least a 1/4 to 1/3 quart low after an hours drive. The
top of the filter is dry. I've also tried another filter housing which made
no difference. I've replaced the gasket under the distributor and I have no
leaks around the oil pressure gauge. I even replaced the head gasket, just
to make sure. (ok I wanted to check the piston size too) I suppose the oil
pan gasket could be leaking but don't see it throwing oil to atop of the
frame

Any ideas on what to try next. I was thinking of installing a oil filter
adaptor plate to use a standard oil filter. Any thought's on this. Except
for the oil leak the engine is tight and runs like a top.

I'm normally a lurker on the digest, so please responded direct to my email.
