OUCH!!!
It reminded me of what happened a few years ago to my auntie's baby-her 1977
Mercedes Benz sedan-lovely dove gray car that she's had for 20 years. 300k on
the clock-(just getting broken in!) and in immaculate condition for a car that
regulary commuted from Napa to Brentwood for several years.
Anyway, she was staying with one of her daughters, parking her car on the
street. Coming out one morning, there was a sizable dent (much bigger than a
ding) on the streetside and a note. The guy who lived across the street and
drove a huge truck had left the note that his teenage son had done it backing
out to go to school and to come on over with the estimate-he'd be glad to pay.
He did and the car looked great. My aunt had the car in front of my cousins
house, just walking into the house after returning from the body shop and
"BAM"-this time it was the neighbour at the wheel!
He was really pissed-at himself. He once again paid-didn't want it to go
through the insurance as it was a rather common occurance.
Moral? If it's too big to back safely out of the drive way-just park it!

(Oh, yes-she still has the same car-I think she'll be buried in it!)
