It really shines up nasty looking chrome.  Learned about this combo
years ago when I got my first motorcycle (they've got far too much
chrome).  Hit the rusted fork tubes and such with steel wool to knock
out the pits, then burnish it up nice with the aluminum foil.  A poor
kid could always snag one of moms SOS pads and a piece of foil. :-)
