Reminds me of a nice fall day waiting at a street light. Pull up beside a
car with two kids, still wet behind the ears, smiling (read laughing) at us.
That's when my wife told me: "Rev the engine a little to see if they want
too!"... That's all it took!

In the far lane:
Blue Geo Metro,
1 driver, 1 passenger, about 250lbs total (wet!!!)
tinted windows, mags wheels and stripes (all these goodies to make the car
faster???)

In the near lane:
Red 1969 Spit with stock engine (as far as I know)
Still in her first 100's miles since the long 10 years nap (change oil, put
gas, started!)
1 driver, 1 passenger (450lbs+ total)
boot full of spares and tools (to put more weight on that right rear
wheel!!! or is it left?)

Light turns green, Spit takes an early lead (a few inches!). Geo catches up
while changing to second (DAMN! that first gear is short!). Once shifted
into second, Spit gets the leads back, still only a few inches, but never
gave it back (hehehe)... Until we had to turn into a fork in the road.

The Geo driver was probably a terrible driver but it doesn't ruin the
pleasure we both had when we saw the look on his face! (Which BTW wasn't a
smile anymore!!!)

Life is good!
