I also made one out of very thin wall panelling plywood, painted it black.
Not the most original looking piece.

So, for the next one...  a friend got a lot of head liner boards from vans
when they were converted to commercial use.  These are pretty big.  Painted
white pattern on one side, rough on the other.  Again, not vinyl, but I
think it will make a more original looking panel than plywood.

Perhaps you know someone in the van modifying business?
