I am in the process of rebuilding a pair of carbs off my son's 1969 Mk3,
and have a few questions I am hoping someone can help me with:
1.The carbs are AUC983 s which according to the Haynes manual are for
the 950cc engine. The bore is 1.25". Are they the wrong carbs???
2. The needles say 7OO. I cannot find an OO needle in the Haynes
appendix. The needles I believe are meant to be DD. Did SU run out of D
D dies and use O's or are these the wrong needles?
3. The front jet is red, the rear is black. Should they be different, if
not which is correct?
