He was talking about making his own aluminum flywheel or having a local machine shop make him one, as opposed to getting one from a source familiar with making flywheels. I've seen machine shops try this sort of job, just turning down a chunk of aluminum, with lousy results. That's why I said you really need the steel face for the clutch disc to ride against. |
