Hi everyone,
I took the Spitfire out this afternoon for no other reason than the sheer
joy of driving. I headed east on Highland Valley Road into Ramona before
heading around to come back. It was late in the day and kinda chilly out,
so I asked my co-pilot Mac (age 7) if he was cold. The reply was
affirmative, so I instructed my co-pilot to roll up his window (he had to
use his foot since his arm is too short to reach the crank with the seat all
the way back) and I pulled out the heater knob and flicked the fan switch.
Well, the fan works, but the heat doesn't. The linkage between the knob and
the heater valve is fine, so what's the story? Bad heater core? Is
repairing the heater a labor intensive endeavor or should I just keep a
blanket in the trunk for when my passengers get chilly?
By the way, I was downtown today and stopped by Auto Showcase to take a
gander at the $12,500 TR7 they're trying to sell. Think I'll stick with my
Spitfire.
Thanks.
