With all due respect, something's off in your observations or calculations
of you're getting 20 mph/1000rpms. That, or you're running TR6 tires and
wheels on your Spitfire! The only car in the range (OD notwithstanding)
that comes in around 20mph/1000rpms would be the GT6 with the 3.27:1 diff.
