ED,
I have a light that I bought at sears,I've seen them somewhere else
but can't remember where. Anyway,it has a long,flexable "shaft"approx 12"
long with a small bulb on the end,the other end contains the battery's(2
AA's) and switch, the bulb and shaft will fit inside the sparkplug
opening, and you would be amazed what you can see.I'm sure if you looked into
all 4 cyl's you could determine if they were flat top or dished pistons.
compare with your present pistons. You might also get a hint by the engine
number,I believe #'s 40000 through 80000,were for 1976 engines.(this was the
only year 1500's had flat-top pistons in North America.
                                                                   Good
Luck,
                                                                    Bob
Harris
