Jeff,
Just to mix a couple of threads, I have to say this is one of the things I
like best about Spitfires and this group. There a tolerance for both schools
of thought (Pure Stock restos to Full House Custom jobs like Barry's or
Dayton's). I've been to Concours where owners admitted that they were
troubled by using non-stock replacement bolts or the wrong kind of grease.
I'd hate to feel that way about a car I was trying to enjoy. Nobody here
obsesses about putting too many miles on their car or running an electric
fuel pump. In that vein, I'd say the the Tiger Maple sounds cool and unique.
I'm waiting for the day that I see a Spitfire completely rodded out like a
'40 Willys coupe.
