Hi Mark
I am assuming that is a smiths original tacho you have there, if it is, the
round terminal 6.5mm (1/4") bullet is the one to connect to the coil. the
flat terminal is usually connected to +12v it does not matter where the
supply comes from , just don't get it from the light green that feeds the
fuel and temp gauges as this is voltage stabilised to about 10v.
