It sure is, I replaced BOTH floor pans with the body on the frame on the 70
project. It is actually desirable to do so, as lining up the holes in the
floor with those of the frame would be virtually impossible to do unless
assembled. The only difficulty I can remember, is in cutting the old ones
out inboard by the frame rails themselves, since the floor is very close to
the frame in this area. I would also recommend that if doing any work
replacing the sills you MUST brace the door opening for correct alignment.
It is probably wise to do it even if just replacing the floors as chances
are you will be working on the sill anyway and the sills are a vital
structural area, especially on the Spitfire tub
