Tom, in my 15+ years working as a mechanic, it is my experience that regular
easyouts are pretty much useless for stubborn bolts as they will usually
break before the bolt will start turning. Instead, for the past 10 years or
so, I have used a set of extractors that I bought from Snap On Tools. They
have a square body with a slight twist to them. I have never had any problem
with these extractors, and they are not brittle like regular easyouts. All
you have to do with these is drill a hole in the broken bolt, drive the
extractor in, and turn the broken bolt out. This set of extractors is fairly
inexpensive, and they have never failed to get the job done. If you like, I
can email you the part number for this set of extractors.
