As far as I have ever known, the proper title of the flag of Great Britain
is the Union Flag.  It is only called the Union Jack when it is flying
from  the jack (bowsprit) of a ship.  Possibly the full name of the flag
could be "The Flag of the Union between England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland".
