I need help. I broke down and bought the air shocks for a 77 corvette,
as recommended on this mail list, and just picked them up from the
store.

They are Gabriel Hi-Jackers, are supposed to be for a 77 vet. My
concern is they are Gabriel part number 39504. According to the
information on this mail list, and according to the web sites referenced
by a few people, apparently the correct Gabriel number is 250407 49304,
or per someone who referenced JC Whitney, catalog number 81-33884.

The new shocks are about 1 to 1 1/2 inch longer than the shocks
currently in the car, a true 79 spitfire, which matches what was said.
They aren't so wide that they won't fit with plenty of clearance, and
the fittings look the same as what's on the car now.

Does anyone have any information on this? Do I have the right shocks?
