I've never actually seen a Spitfire with the Commission Plate in the
door frame area, all of my Spits have had it rivetted to the left hand
side of the bulkhead. Is this one of those anomalies for the American
market, as all my Spitfires have been home market cars? I have owned
several MkIV, 1500 and MkIII models, and have worked on earlier models
belonging to friends.
