Well here I go again. I discovered the
metering needle had come off its threads
in my attempt to remedy the rich mixture
in cylinders 1 and 2 by plugging what I
considered a vacuum leak from the anti-
run-on valve. Shouldn't this be a sealed
circuit and not allow air to enter the intake manifold
through the anti-run-on valve? Could the needle
be worn allowing more fuel in than the air can
handle? I've changed the vacuum source for
the anti-run-on valve from the intake manifold
supplying cylinders 3 and 4 to the banjo connection
for the the EGR valve. This seems to have equalized
the mixture to all cylinders. If the vacuum line to the
anti-run-on valve should not be allowing air into the
intake.Could my problem be the "vacuum leak" at
the anti-run-on valve and a worn metering needle
not allowing me to plug this leak and adjust the mixture
properly? Thanks!
