Rick & Nick,

My XR700 has been on my Spitfire for two years, no problems. I also put a
coil in with the ignition, a Crane PS20.  This coil was spec'ed to be used
at 6V (actually 6 - 9V) by Crane.

One thing extra I did was to adjust the optical trigger so that it never
hit the shutter [chopper disc]. My distributor shaft had some up & down
movement, so the disc was riding very close to the sensor if I lifted the
shaft.  I thought it would be better to fix that at installation (while the
distributor was out) than later if I had a problem.

At the time of installation I also changed the plug wires, dizzy cap and
rotor.  And I have the plug gap set at .35 [stock is .25].
