That pretty much describes the car I bought, minus the re-paint.  I also
have a hard top.  My car too hadn't been registerd in a long time and had
just been resurected.  It's been a good experience, only little problems
mostly with rotting rubber.

I paid $1500 for my car, but he was being threaten by his wife to sell.
He was originally asking $4000.  The first time I talked to him he came
down to $3000(Without any haggling on my part).  I walked away to look at
another car.  He called me and offered $2500.  I would have paid thta
much, but had trouble finding the cash.  It sat on the street corner at
$2500, then slowly went down to $1500.  I would have made a deal with the
mob I was so desperate to get the car at the point.  I, however, was able
to find the money at that point.  Getting the title was an ordeal I'll
share at another time.
