Hi,
I'm currently rebuilding an engine for my spit and I was measuring the cam
lift today with a caliper, one of the lobes is clearly worn and has about
.009 in. less lift than the others, I believe that this amount of wear and
the fact that the lobe seems to have most of the metal treatment worn off
of it is probably call for replacement. I am considering installing one of
the mild street performance cams, does anyone have any experience with
these? Almost every vendor sells a "street" cam, and I was wondering if it
really gives any benefit with a mostly stock engine. My engine has 9:1
compression, a Crane ignition and will probably get a weber carb
eventually. Any thoughs or first hand knowledge would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Glenn
