Can't think of any real prob's, once you've sorted all the wiring out,
if I remember right, the early one is bullet connector thingys, and the
later column has a nice block connector.  But, don't forget, the later
columns have the wiper/washer on the column, so you'll have a redundant
switch/hole on the dash board.  Plus, you may need to extend the wiring
for the ignition switch as it's further  up the column, not under the
dash as on your's.

I have seen a late GT6 done like this, and it looks alot better.
