I had this problem too. I went to a specialty lock store, an Anderson Lock
Company retail outfit, and showed them my keys. One of the guys there is
truly an artist whose medium is key blanks. He completely custom-cut me a
set of keys, using blanks that were as close as possible to the originals.
He successfully copied both the ignition and boot lid keys (I have no door
lock keys for my car). He did a lot of shaving around the shoulders of the
ignition key, and seems to have shortened it a little too, but I don't
know. The boot lid key he made from a small Chrysler key (the Chrysler
emblem is printed on it, which is kind of a bummer). :)
My advice is to go to a lock smith or other specialty place where they do
nothing but locks and see what they can do. At Anderson Lock Co, the keys
only cost me $3.50 each (regular price), despite all the custom work.
P.S. The blank he used to make my ignition keys is an Ilco, with these
numbers stamped on it: FC7, X86. The boot lid key is a small Chrysler blank
with no markings on it other than the Chrysler emblem.
