Hmm - you might be surprised. You say that you don't think you'll use
it much, but don't use the soft top.
Back when I had my first '72 MKIV in '87, I had a soft top, a hard top
(Yellow - ugh!), and a tonneau. I never ran any top. But, when it
would rain suddenly, it sure was nice to have that tonneau snapped on,
and tucked behind the seats.
Then, any time inclement weather struck, or I was going to leave it
for a few minutes/hours and didn't want to take a chance, I'd snap it
up.
If it rained, a quick tug on the center would force all the water out
over the doors and onto the ground, snap it back, and voila! - Dry spit!
Plus, when you drive solo, you can snap up the passenger side, and
pretend you're a Jag D-Type... :-)
