Yes Chris, it acts as a damper. Lighter oil increases the rate at which
the piston will rise and thicker oil slows the rise. I use auto trans
fluid in mine as it is about 15 weight oil.
Are you related to the Taylors of Taylor Chrysler across the bridge in
Hamilton??
