With the starter removed you should have pretty good access to the bolts??
I used a socket and ratchet with no problem?
DO NOT leave the converter attached to the flex plate and remove the
transmission. Not if you want the transmission!! You will destroy the front
seal at a minimum and may very well damage the front input shaft to the
pump!!
You won't get any fluid out when the TQ comes off. Only when you tip the
transmission. I would just leave the pan on and drop the transmission.
