We've traveled with one for years. NO problem in any car we've used it in.
Cigar lighter sockets are rated for at least 15 amps. Plug it in and go!

Almost got things squared away for the trip...
The AWA bought a DC-powered fridge to throw in the back seat of our SHO for
the trip to Memphis. Seems to think we're driving an SUV or something.
Anyway, the thing is rated at 4 amps, which would be ~48 watts. Seems like a
lot to me - any know if the car will handle this without a meltdown?
