I'm afraid that most often I end up removing studs as "dust", having first tried heat/penetrating oil, then a pair of nuts, then my cam-lock type stud remover...then moving on to the inevitable cutoff wheel/center-punch/progressively larger drill bit/dental-pick-to-pull-out-the-thread-remnants approach.
