I'm not sure what thread pitch a 5/8" grinder spindle uses.
There's not a lot of wall thickness for a 5/8" to 1/2" adapter. Wouldn't
surprise me if regular / coarse pitch stuff wouldn't have enough wall
thickness for an adapter to work?
It does look like there' some type of thread repair thing for those pitches
