I=E2=80=99ve done that too but the last time I did it I needed to dig up abo=
ut 8=E2=80=99 of pipe. It was the main water line coming into a house & worr=
ied the glue wouldn=E2=80=99t bond all that well (Texas + summer =3D short w=
orking time).

I always have just manhandled it by prying the pipe up, cut the pipe to just=
the right length to clear the length of the coupler, slide the coupler ful=
ly up the one pipe, and then center it on both ends of the pipes before the g=
lue dries.
This coupler looks A LOT easier... :-)
