I've used the "cutlist" plugin for the free "Sketchup" modeling program
which will take your design and compute a reasonable cut list. Its
layouts aren't perfectly efficient, though. Layouts that absolutely
minimize waste tend to be a nightmare to cut out so this program
achieves a decent middle ground.
