A guy I used to work for kept a dial caliper in his box just to show people why
he didn't allow dial calipers in the shop. He would zero it naked and then
demonstrate that it was off on a 4" gage block.
I still have 6-inch vernier caliper, but I had to sell the sweet 8" Mitutoyo
vernier caliper I used to have when I worked there.
