I'm a bit late too, but one problem I've had is shearing the woodruff 
key.  This tends to happen when the blade hits a stump or rock or 
something.  Of course, if the mower was running great when you parked 
it, and now it won't start, it's not likely to be a sheared 
key.  Just something else for your data bank.
