Found some nasty hairy mold in two bedrooms of the house. Both in the
lower corner of the wall by the floor, and both on an outside wall. I've
checked for water as best I could. There is no water under this house,
never has been, it's bone dry. The roof is only a couple years old, and
I can find no indication of a leak of any sort. Of course I have not
torn the drywall off to have a look inside, but I have crawled under the
house and can view the sill plate in the area. I can see zero evidence
of water infiltration anywhere. Also, the floor is well insulated in
this house. I'm ASSuming the exterior walls are insulated, but I
honestly don't know that for a fact. The area on the exterior of the
wall is clear of obstructions and has good airflow.
The total area covered in mold is approximately 7" high (up from the
floor) and 2-3" in width.
Three things of note:
I live in the pacific northwet (Seattle).
There was some blockage of airflow in these corners by furniture, but I
don't think it was unreasonable.
What can I spray on this area to make it go away? I heard a mixture of
water and bleach? What can I do to keep it away?
Thanks
Wayne
