The July issue of "Fine Homebuilding"  (Lowes here carries it) has a 
couple articles on decks, including one on the synthetic stuff.  It 
has a really nice manufacturer's directory -- lots more varieties 
available than I was aware.  Many even look a lot more like wood than 
the stuff out a few years ago.  Well worth picking up if you're 
looking to build.
