I want to install hydraulic cylinders on the compartment doors that are on
the exterior 'basement' walls of my motorhome.
These are approx 2 feet high and 4 feet long and are hinged along the top
of the compartment opening upwards. I want these cylinders to allow the
door to stay in the up position when opened.
Is there a rule of thumb that one uses to determine the length of cylinder
required and where they should be mounted on the door and supporting frame
structure? I know that weight of the supported structure must be considered.
Thanks
Preston
