Scott, checking on the HF website, I found this gun...
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=46085
It's the "Street Legal Thundergun", is the only gun I find there that
talks about "Nascar pits".
I rarely buy into that marketing hype, but is that the gun you are talking
about? It's $169.99.
Then there is the IR 2131 for $184.99. That's more money, but that is
what I'd expect to pay for a good gun.

I checked eBay, but most people don't list or know the specs on the gun.
I'd hate to wait a few days for the auction to close, then a few more for
shipping, then find out it needs to be rebuilt, then find out it's only a
250lbs gun.
I'll pay for the new gun and have it in a few days.
FWIW, last night I didn't realize that there were 3 pages to that search.

ir7141 (or something like that). the ingersol-rand black death. I'm
almost positive the first two numbers are 71. no, make that 21. yeah,
2141...that's it. anyhow, black composite body, and it comes in 1/4",
3/8" and 1/2". I have the 1/2"--450 lbs forward, 600 reverse. ~$169 from
h.f. so far I'm pleased. if I bought another, it'd be the chicago
pneumatic @ 625 lbs reverse for something like $10 less. i.r. also has a
'nascar' gun out now, supposed to be more twist, and ~$5 cheaper, iirc.
all metal body. I think they call it the 'gorilla' gun? either way,
every time I see it in h.f., the copy mentions that it's the gun nascar
teams use. and mine is the 2171, I think. the first two are the model
line, the last two are the size. I'd go look, but it's packed for the
move. gimme a day and I'll got dig it out whereever it's living now. I
think it's with the compressor...
oh, and sears sell the same gun I have (the ir2171) under the craftsman
name. chrome nose and more expensive, but if you need it *now*, well, I
doubt even sears could screw that up too bad.
