Yes, those prices do appear attractive, for what you got. I had a Case 226 all
hydraulic garden tractor a few years back, sold it for $3800 with accessories,
so $4000 for yours is good.
I would be wary of the GMC C7000 though. If it is gas, it might be too
expensive to operate, and the 350 V-8 is woefully underpowered in most of these
trucks. If it is a diesel, the common GMC truck diesel engines like 8.2N, 8.2T
, plus the 6V53 are all now totally obsolete. If it has a Cat inline-6 engine,
then that is good.
As a former GMC truck salesman, then later an International truck salesman, I
would suggest an older S-series International with the inline pump DT-466 motor
(1985 or later for inline pump, pre-85 had rotary pumps).
Good luck.

Mark ask what a "song" is.
Mark, the whole mower get up was less than $4k. That may seem like a big
number for most, but if you look at a new garden tractor (NOT a "mower")
they start around $5k for the basic. I got a very versatile commercial
unit and a whole lot of extras for my money.
The JD 301N wheel tractor was $6000. It turned out not needing a dang
thing (except one of the hoses needed to be tightened.)
The JD crawler was the most expensive of the "toys" (to date) at $10k. But
it's quite a piece of machinery.
The GMC C7000 truck I'm looking at is $4500. I might be able to get that
price down.
Note, since I buy out of state, I don't pay tax. (and even if I bought in
state, I have an "farm" property, so I don't have to pay taxes as long as
I don't use the machines commercially. (which I don't)
FWIW, I changed the photo album on my website to include an "Equipment"
section and I added pics of the other pieces. (Note, I'll put better pics
up soon.)

Subject: RE: Mowers and such.
I agree with the basic premise of your statement that the best values are
those machines that are too big for most consumers but not modern/reliable
enough for a commercial enterprise. After all, my Cincinnati 15x 48 lathe
(weighs 5000#) and White-GMC CO flatbed truck are examples of this. But,
maybe your definition of a song differs from other definitions. What is a
"song" to you in regard to a complete mowing outfit or a crawler backhoe?
I have never seen a decent backhoe (wheel type) for less that $7500. Is
that a song?
