On several Datsun vehicles I own, the car's jack brackets the pinch weld seam as described and in specified locations. However, the SHOP manual specifically says that service jacks and lifts are to use other points such as the diff case, the compression rod anchors, front cross member, etc. depending on whether you're jacking up the front, rear or whole car.
