Wouldnt bad valve guides also cuse oil consumption?
If various seals go bad tht could also cause it.
I'm mostly a two-stroke guy, so I could be wrong..
If it were me, I'd replace all the rings nd hone the cylinder.
Also mic the cylinder and piston to make sure
that it's in spec.
