The second explaination. If the string is 6 inches long, the first inch
may burn for 29 minutes, and the last inch may burn in only 1 minute.
Total end-to-end burn time will be 30 minutes. Both strings have this

Does this mean that string L & S burn at different rates or does it mean
that inch 1 of string L burns at one rate and inch 2 burns at a different
rate than inches 1 & 3 etc......? Same for string S.
