Electronic pest repellants

I remember a while ago there was talk about pest repellants.  I was 
wondering, does anyone have any experience with the electronic types that 
plug in to AC?

I've got problems with flies, ladybugs, and mice at the new place.

Any advice? 

(I have 2 large dogs, so cats aren't a possibility)
