Those copper washers really are a one time use only item. Though like all of us, I re-use mine when I can. GM or Ford sells them in a variety of sizes quite cheaply. The problem with them is that they are actually quite soft new. But when compressed by the first installation, they work harden. You can resoften them by getting them red hot and dumping it in cold water (opposite of what you'd do with steel). |
