Scott- I would go with the expansion bolt, look for some that are 1/2 inch diameter by 4 inches. You may have to go to a building/contractor supply to get some. After you drill your holes, blow out the dust so the bolt has plenty of depth to seat. IMO, the 22 caliber pins are not suitable for placement of a short piece of mud sill, especially at the edge of a slab. The have nowhere near the withdrawel strength of the expansion bolt, and are much more likely to split the short piece of mud sill, or fracture the slab. Martin Scarr |
