What a waste of effort and money! Like myself, you must obviously
be an Engineer to look for such a complicated solution to a problem.
Here is an elegant solution that will work better and cost nothing.
It will detect and measure forward and backward parking location errors
as well as side to side errors.

Fist, park your car in the garage where you want it to be.
Next, hang a tennis ball from the ceiling so that it touches
your windshield right where the mirror is mounted.

>From then on, just pull into the garage and when you approach
the ball you will know exactly how to correct to park perfectly
every time. You can quite easily park the car within an inch of where
you want it.
